BendBrightXS is a single mode bend insensitive optical fibre that drastically reduces cable diameters for most OSP cable designs, increases fibre density in ducts, and reduces size and weight of aerial cables.

Prysmian's range of single-mode, multimode and specialty fibres are designed for every purpose. With centres of excellence in Italy, the Netherlands and France, and five production sites around the world, we are a world-leading manufacturer of optical fibre.

BendBrightXS 200 and 180 µm allows cable designers to drastically reduce cable diameters for most OSP cable designs. This feature not only enables the increase of fibre density in ducts, but also reduces the size and weight of aerial cables. What’s more, it can dramatically reduce the total cost of ownership of a network while limiting the environmental impact of its deployment. Colour coded 180µm fiber optic (prysmiangroup.com)

Ecoslim

Ecoslim - a system composed of ducts and microduct cables - maximises the available space in access and FTTx networks by offering significantly reduced microduct and cable diameters - ideal for dense urban areas where space is scarce, ducts are harder to reach, and trenches are already being utilised. Prysmian Ecoslim™ cable and duct system: up to 90% recycled plastic & record reduced diameter | Prysmian Group

ECO CABLE - The cable industry's first environmental label

Prysmian introduces ECO CABLE - the cable industry's first green label, which vouches for our cables's eco credentials through 6 criteria:

  1. Carbon footprint: Calculated with a 'cradle-to-gate' approach and combined with other parameters to achieve a full 'cradle-to-grave' carbon footprint.
  2. Substances of every high concern: ECO CABLE products must be free of substances that are carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic for reproduction, or hazardous for the environment.
  3. Recyclability/circularity: Indicates that materials used in the cables are potentially recyclable or the products themselves are potentially fully recyclable.
  4. Recycling input rate: Confirms the presence of recycled material in a cable, both purchased from external suppliers and reused by Prysmian Group itself.
  5. Environmental benefits: Applies to low-carbon enabling products, CPR-compliant cables, and cables used for green energy sources.
  6. Cable transmission efficiency: The more efficient the cable, the more sustainable its performance. For optical cables this means an increase in fibre density.

Prysmian Group's outside plant products and solutions are designed for versatility, covering all your cable management needs whatever the network type. A broad range of closures, street cabinets and accessories allow the network designer to adopt the most appropriate solution for any environment or eventuality.

The CasaLink Block Terminal (CBT) is a pre-connectorised, compact box, easily mounted on the wall or on a pole. The CBT system does not use a proprietary drop or feeder cable, Prysmian’s patented fibre locking system allows loose tube cables can be utilised with existing overhead infrastructure.

CBT can be used as part of a point to point or PON system, so balanced or unbalanced splitters can be pre-installed within the block, increasing the capacity of the fibres accommodated within its compact size.

Network operators are under ever-increasing pressure to save space, time and costs. They need to become as efficient as possible when it comes to making use of space, and providing high-performing, future-fit solutions. Prysmian Group’s Sirocco microduct cables have been designed with these pressures in mind. Using Prysmian’s BendBrightTM A1 200 and 180 µm single-mode fibres (G.657.A1), Sirocco microduct cables have a smaller diameter than other cables on the market, making it possible to install more fibres within a limited space.

Prysmian Group's microduct cables offer a step forward in cable miniaturization by boasting world record fibre densities and cable diameters. Inside this category Prysmian introduces “Sirocco microduct cables” specifically designed for air-blowing installation, they are the ideal component for high-density access networks, FTTx and 5G infrastructure, and are available in fibre counts ranging from 96 to 864.

Sirocco HD cables provide world record diameters and fibre densities for blown microduct cables. The new cable boasts 864 fibres in a diameter of 11.0mm, providing a fibre density of 9.1 fibres per mm2, and is installable into a 13mm duct.

Sirocco HD microduct cables utilize Prysmian’s BendBright-A2 200µm single-mode (ITU-T G.657.D, G.657.A2) bend insensitive fibre, providing a solution that is ready for evolved systems, totally compatible with any already-installed legacy G652 fibre, and truly future-proof.

Sirocco Extreme cables provide world record diameters and fibre densities for blown microduct cables.

The cable boasts 576 fibres in a diameter of 8.2mm, providing a fibre density of 10.9 fibres per mm2, and can be installed into a 10mm duct. Sirocco Extreme microduct cables utilise Prysmian’s BendBrightXS 180µm single-mode (ITU-T G.652.D, G.657.A2) bend insensitive fibre fully compatible for splicing with any standard fibre.
