The FTTH Council Europe is an industry association with a mission to advance ubiquitous full fibre-based connectivity to the whole of Europe.
The FTTH Council Europe welcomes the Digital Networks Act, supporting a regulatory framework that incentivises investment and fosters effective competition, underpinned by stability through the SMP process. We support a balanced copper switch-off that provides clarity for investors while ensuring consumers are not left without connectivity, recognise the importance of tailored access remedies reflecting national and market realities, and welcome the DNA’s focus on security and resilience, while stressing the need for public funding of these obligations. We look forward to constructive engagement with co-legislators to refine the proposal and accelerate FTTH deployment as Europe’s strategic digital infrastructure.
Europe’s path to full fibre is accelerating, but unevenly. This event explores how the Digital Networks Act can unlock faster fibre deployment, enable copper switch-off, and create investment-friendly regulation, with fresh insights from policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders.
