ManUp Key Ltd has designed and produced a tool which is used to lift stubborn or seized manhole and inspection covers. These covers are used in many industries, including telecoms, to provide infrastructure. The tool is used extensively in the drainage/water/utilities industries, and to some extent in the telecoms industry. The unique characteristics and features of the tool provide a safe, effective and efficient way to gain access to the infrastructure fabric required for FTTH. However, since industry is more concerned with the work done to provide and service the infrastructure, gaining access to it has been neglected to the point where there is no best practice when problems are encountered with stubborn covers. We aim to revolutionise this niche area. We have had some success in the UK telecoms industry, but there is more to do, particularly in the wider European area. Our tool can be provided with interchangeable tips which makes it adaptable and relevant in any country where manholes or inspection covers are used. The tool is branded ‘CoverUp key’ worldwide, except in America where it is currently branded as ‘ManUp key’.
